Marketing Department Wins University Spirit of Service Award for 2008

Fresno, CA - The Department of Marketing and Logistics was presented the University's "Spirit of Service Award" for 2008 by President John Welty at a ceremony held at University House in May.

This award is given to a department or individual who represents the many students, community partners, and faculty members and staff who make community engagement and service-learning efforts possible, and who symbolizes the best qualities of encouraging Fresno State students to participate in meaningful, engaged service to the community.

During the first eight years of the program, more than 3,500 students at the Craig School of Business have contributed in excess of 52,000 hours of service-learning time on marketing-related programs for community-based organizations in the Central Valley through the Marketing Concepts course, Mktg 100S. These hours have been valued at more than $1.7 million.
