Nonprofit Organizations
Nonprofit organizations can provide excellent opportunities for business students to apply skills learned in the classroom. The internship program encourages nonprofit organizations to post internship positions in any possible business areas including accounting, marketing, management, finance, human resources and information systems.
All requirements are the same in applying for an intern. The internship must be
progressive in nature to assure the student is learning as they complete the internship and be under the guidance of a mentor or supervisor who has experience in the given business area. In some cases a member of the Board of Directors of the organization can also qualify as a mentor to the student intern.
Nonprofits qualify for a Community Service Scholarship to assist with paying a student.
The student must complete 150 hours of service to the nonprofit organization and in return the organization donates $600 to the Community Service Scholarship fund at CSU Fresno. The donation is matched $600 and the student in return is paid the full $1200 from CSU Fresno as a stipend for completing a Community Service Internship.
Nonprofit organizations will not be billed for the $600 match until after the placement of a student. If you have more questions regarding this special internship program please email debbiey@csufresno.edu
