Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Certification

The CFP® certification process, administered by CFP Board, assures the public that those who have been authorized to use the CFP certification marks have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence when dealing with clients.
To become certified, you are required to meet the following four initial certification requirements (known as the four "Es"):

• Education
• Examination
• Experience
• Ethics

The curriculum of the CSUF Financial Planning Track is a registered program that satisfies CFP Board's education requirement. In order to be eligible to apply for the CFP® Certification Examination, students must have taken the following courses upon graduation:

FIN 122, FIN128, FIN138, FIN 143, FIN144, FIN146, FIN150, BA160 and ACCT 144

The tentative schedule for the above courses is as follows:

Courses offered every semester: FIN122, FIN128, FIN138, ACCT144
Courses offered in fall semester only: FIN143, FIN146, BA160
Courses offered in spring semester only: FIN144, FIN150
