John Horstman was born and raised in Fresno and earned his bachelor's degree in marketing at Fresno State in 1958. It was here that he met his wife, Lollie, who graduated with a degree in education.
After graduation, John became a New York Life Insurance agent, and has remainded so to this day. He was recognized as a chartered life underwriter in 1985 and a chartered financial consultant in 1989. He formed Horstman Financial and Insurance Services, a family corporation with his son, John, and daughter, Katherine ('04).
He is well respected in the insurance industry. John has been a life and quallifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table for 41 years, and a member of the Top of the Table. He is a past president of the Fresno Estate Planning Council.
His influence in the community is most visible through his extensive service and involvement. John is a business associate of the Craig School of Business, a trustee emeritus of the St. Agnes Medical Center Foundation, and a past chairman of the foundation for the St. Agnes Medical Center Foundation. He also serves on the board of governors of the Callifornia State University Fresno Foundation and is a past president and a trustee emeritus for the Fresno Metropolitan Museum. He was a 1999 California Family Business Award winner, as well as a hall of fame recipient for the 2001 Central California Excellence in Business Award.
John and Lollie enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, Sam, Jack and Kristen, Whom they adore, and their dog, PQ.
John is an FSAA life Member.
