Job Description
Responsible for administrating the technical environment for administrative applications at California State University, Fresno. This includes deploying and maintaining operating systems and software on database servers, web servers, application servers and workstations. I also represent Fresno State’s technology interests amongst the other 22 CSU campuses and the office of the Chancellor.
Critical Success Factors
I have been exposed to many aspects of technology in diverse business sectors during the past several years. I credit any and all of the success that I have enjoyed over my career, to my own insatiable curiosity, my willingness to learn, taking some calculated career risks, and to the many talented mentors who have patiently tutored me.
Advice to Students
I believe in the adage “do something you love and then find a way to make money doing it”. There are so many opportunities in technology no matter where your skills and interests lie. Don’t worry about making a lot of money after graduation, focus on what you can learn from others, be humble and open minded, find your niche and pursue it with all your might.
Darryl Booth is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Decade Software Company, LLC, a leading provider of software data management solutions and services for agencies responsible for environmental regulation and protection of public health.

Darryl earned an MBA from the Craig School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from California State University, Fresno. Darryl has worked in data management for twenty years and with the Environmental Health industry for twelve years. Darryl is an adjunct instructor at California State University, Fresno and Fresno City College.
Job Description
Darryl tracks the data management needs, trends, and best practices of local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. These data are inputs to a strategic view of the regulatory and competitive landscapes.

As a central California health care leader for more than a century, Community Medical Centers has a rich history of medical excellence and compassionate care. With about 6,000 employees and 1,000 physicians, it also is the largest and most comprehensive hospital system in the San Joaquin Valley.
Community is a nonprofit, locally owned health care system that operates four acute-care hospitals and a variety of other health care facilities. We provide a full continuum of care from preventive education to outpatient services to intensive hospital treatment to home health.

Tim is responsible for the strategic direction, design, implementation, and maintenance of the Business Information Systems including Application Development and Integration at Community Medical Centers.

Advice to Students
Decide what you want to do and develop a plan to reach your goal. Larger organizations require specialist (i.e., Networking, Web Development, Systems Administration, etc.) where the smaller organizations have fewer staff with broader skills sets. Gain the education, training, and hands-on work experience necessary to excel in your selected area. Most importantly, have fun in what you do!
